Over the last 15 years, Amphinicy has acquired in-depth knowledge and experience in delivering monitor and control (M&C) solutions to some of the most demanding customers in the world. Hence at CABSAT, we will be focused on MONICA, a state-of-the-art ground segment M&C solution, built primarily for the satellite industry. Its power lies in a completely new architecture that allows us to support huge, new generation VSAT networks that other network management systems cannot handle.
MONICA benefits from the open-source community and evolves much faster than its traditional counterparts that struggle with reliance on obsolete and proprietary technologies. The reason is its modular architecture based on micro services. In order to fully support scalability and redundancy on all levels, and to be able to extend the system without compromising the up-time, we run Monica in a cluster. The system performances depend on the available hardware, while Monica scales. If a customer is extending the network by adding new terminals, new data collecting agents can be easily added on the fly, as well as new data storage nodes without interrupting other parts of the system. The high throughput message bus can handle more than 2 million metrics per second, which makes it a powerful solution for global satellite operators, service providers and terminal network operators. Monica supports multitenancy up to the lowest level of a data source. Only registered users can access specific data based on user roles. Reporting and charting functionality in a user-friendly interface expose instrument parameter history and statistics.
Besides that, MONICA exposes human and machine interfaces with typical features, expected from an advanced monitor and control solution like alarming, logging, charting and reporting, and powerful automation with scripting and scheduling capabilities.
To be more user-friendly, MONICA offers custom settings of themes, logos and menus.
